Job Summary

Job Details/Responsibilities

The Six Sigma Program Manager will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and expanding the Six Sigma and Lean Continuous Improvement program across multiple Terumo Medical sites. This role will serve as the primary program manager for all Six Sigma training waves (Yellow, Green, and Black Belt), Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives. The individual will build a culture of problem solving by training associates, coaching project leaders, ensuring alignment to business goals, and delivering measurable results in productivity, quality, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction. Serve as project leader in the creation of a talent capability program and align of human potential with organizational strategy and capabilities.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

    • Lead the design, implementation, and governance of the Six Sigma program across sites.
    • Coordinate training waves (Yellow, Green, Black Belt) including planning, scheduling, certification, and follow-up.
    • Develop and maintain program metrics, dashboards, and reporting to leadership on impact and progress.
  • Training & Capability Building
    • Deliver engaging training sessions and workshops in Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving tools.
    • Mentor and coach project teams and belt candidates through the DMAIC process and other CI methodologies.
    • Build capability across all levels of the organization to identify, scope, and execute improvement projects.
    • Lead the creation and support of a talent capability program focused on developing associates to support business core competencies.
  • Kaizen & Project Execution
    • Facilitate and lead cross-functional Kaizen events to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
    • Partner with site leaders and functional heads to identify high-impact opportunities for improvement.
    • Ensure projects are aligned to business priorities and deliver measurable, sustainable results.
  • Leadership & Change Management
    • Act as a change agent to foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowerment, and innovation.
    • Engage with senior leaders to align projects with strategic objectives.
    • Influence and coach leadership teams on Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement principles.

  • This is remote position. Travel between sites for training and project reviews is required.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or statistics (Master’s preferred).
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or process improvement roles in a manufacturing or regulated industry (medical devices, pharma preferred).
  • Proven experience leading large-scale Six Sigma programs and Kaizen events across multiple sites.

Final compensation packages may be higher or lower than what is listed, and will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
