Job Summary:

The Operational Excellence Analyst, Temporary supports Logistics & Distribution (L&D) initiatives focused on process improvement, data governance, analytics, automation, and operational excellence. The primary focus of this assignment will be supporting the development and implementation of a Master Data Governance framework for SAP master data used across Logistics & Distribution and related business functions.

As L&D continues to expand warehouse automation, robotics, SAP integration, and advanced warehouse technologies, accurate and standardized master data is increasingly critical to operational performance. The position will work cross-functionally to document current processes, establish data standards and governance practices, identify data quality opportunities, develop reporting and analytics, and support sustainable processes for maintaining master data.

Job Details:

1. Support the development and implementation of a Master Data Governance framework for Logistics & Distribution and associated business functions.
2. Document current-state processes for the creation, maintenance, modification, and approval of SAP master data.
3. Assist in identifying master data owners, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and approval responsibilities across business functions.
4. Develop and maintain RACI documentation defining roles and responsibilities for critical master data processes.
5. Partner with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, IT, SAP, Operational Excellence, and other business functions to understand master data requirements and align governance practices.
6. Assist in establishing standards and business rules for critical SAP master data attributes, including product weights, dimensions, units of measure, packaging hierarchies, storage parameters, and other operationally significant data.
7. Analyze existing master data to identify inconsistencies, gaps, duplicates, missing information, and other data quality issues.
8. Assist in prioritizing master data quality issues based on operational risk, business impact, automation requirements, and implementation needs.
9. Develop data quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure master data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
10. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools to provide visibility into master data quality and governance performance.
11. Develop standardized workflows for requesting, creating, modifying, reviewing, and approving master data.
12. Develop audit processes and reporting methods to support ongoing compliance with established master data standards.
13. Support warehouse automation and technology initiatives by validating the accuracy and completeness of master data required for automated equipment and systems.
14. Assist in evaluating the operational impact of master data on warehouse automation, storage, picking, inventory, transportation, reporting, and other Logistics & Distribution processes.
15. Support Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and Operational Excellence projects through data collection, analysis, process mapping, documentation, and problem solving.
16. Assist with the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), process maps, governance documentation, and other operational documentation.
17. Develop training materials and user documentation to support adoption of Master Data Governance processes and other Operational Excellence initiatives.
18. Participate in project meetings, stakeholder discussions, action tracking, and cross-functional working sessions.
19. Prepare analyses, presentations, reports, and recommendations for Operational Excellence and Logistics & Distribution leadership.
20. Identify opportunities to reduce manual corrections, improve data accuracy, standardize processes, and increase operational efficiency.
21. Support additional Operational Excellence, analytics, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
22. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  Background Experiences

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous internship, co-op, academic, or project experience involving data analysis, operations, supply chain, process improvement, or business systems preferred.
  • Experience or coursework involving data management, data governance, database concepts, or master data preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or another Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and related productivity tools.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization and analytics tools preferred.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
