Job Summary

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for operational activities of a Distribution facility, excluding factory warehouses.  S/he is also responsible for managing, administering, and complying with State or Country labor laws, corporate policies/procedures and benefits, import regulations, and industrial standards.  Additionally, s/he will be responsible for all Distribution Center operations, including facility management, staff management, budget attainment, inventory control/analysis, shipping and receiving functions, vendor negotiations, and occupational; safety regulations. 

Job Details/Responsibilities

1.    Associate is responsible to follow requirements of TMC Quality System; including but not limited to requirements for traceability of product, recognizing customer complaints and the requirement to forward information to QA, and the Quality System requirements for Distribution centers. Establish and promote a work environment amongst co-workers and direct reports that supports compliance with the TMC Quality System and Terumos policies.
2.    Shipping/Receiving- Manage the timely and accurate completion of these functions
3.    Inventory Control- Oversee all inventory control activities including the consolidated management and reporting of inventory accuracy (cycle counts)
4.    Staff Management- Through meetings and other correspondence, monitor employee conduct, behavior, work quality and continuity with co-workers.  Inform and educate in areas of corporate direction and policy, customer perspectives, safety issues, and improved processes.  Direct and indirect responsibility for 5-10 associates.  Responsible to identify and implement development programs for the associates
5.    Identify and implement methods that result in cost savings

6.    Facility Management- Oversee individual facility maintenance activities Continuous upgrades maintenance of facility to provide working conditions that are conductive to efficient operations and comply with all applicable regulations
7.    Responsible for Distribution Center Supervisor and or associates
8.    Continually motivating employee to produce both quantity and quality in assigned tasks
9.    Ultimately responsible for inventory, order processing and customer satisfaction based on performance of distribution function at facility
10.    Participates in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods, or processes for unit/company performance improvement
11.    Performs other job related duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Understanding of company enterprise or similar warehousing/logistics systems
  • Knowledgeable/fluent on basic Microsoft office computer systems
  • Demonstrated decision - making skills with ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and influence skills across functions and levels

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Bachelors degree in business required
  • Minimum of 3 years distribution experience
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive management experience
