Job Summary

Sr Global Supply Planner will be responsible for supporting all elements of supply, inventory, and Supply Chain project planning activities for the assigned product/customer portfolio. This individual works closely with the Global Demand Planner and Manufacturing sources whether captive or external.

 

The incumbent will also work closely with customer service to ensure customer requirements for product and information are met on a timely basis. This is an internal customer and supplier facing role that ensures that all product and project deliverables are met on-time and within budget. This position will be responsible for the accurate analysis and maintenance of product inventory to satisfy sales and demand.  The successful incumbent will analyze, coordinate, and implement efficient inventory management systems for the US and Canada. This position involves analyzing unconstrained demand, developing a supply plan, coordinating production and shipments from manufacturing locations and taking cost avoidance actions.  Additionally, this position works closely with the commercial & operations teams (sales, marketing, R&D, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing) during new product introduction and related inventory control matters. 

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Associate is responsible to follow requirements of TMC Quality System; including but not limited to requirements for traceability of product, recognizing customer complaints and the requirement to forward information to QA. 
  • Possess the ability to conduct multiple assessment process to analyze complex issues and present to senior management.
  • Analyze total Demand to maintain the production/purchase plan.
  • Participate and/or lead (as necessary) in monthly Sales and Operations Planning Process.
  • Develop a purchase plan for all products and initiate purchases of products from Terumo manufacturing sites or from local/foreign vendors.  
  • Monitor receipt of inventory from manufacturing sites, communicate discrepancies and resolve problems.  
  • Communicate and lead discussions with sales management on any production issues, stock availability and forecasts.      
  • Interact with Customer Operations on stock availability for Domestic business and Global Trade Compliance for Import and Export business.  
  • Act as a liaison between shipping/receiving and all functional areas related to any inventory issues.  
  • Review open order/backorder report, slow moving report and short expiring reports with senior leaders and take necessary action to increase inventory turnover and reduce inventory write-off.  
  • Provide direction, guidance, and leadership to the cross functional teams related to service, inventories, supply planning, transportation and distribution issues.  Also review procedures and policies established by TMC Corporate office and assure appropriate communications to all affected associates.
  • Participate on new product launch teams, providing input and raising concerns on scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Participate in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods of processes for unit/company performance improvement.

  • Knowledge of Supply Planning or other software related to demand planning is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP/ MRP, Inventory Strategies, and Sales and Operations Planning.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Supply Planning ERP with a preference for IBP/APO experience or supply planning functionality
  • Perform all activities in compliance with relevant GMP and Quality Systems standards and specifically with FDA Quality System Regulation and EN46000.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Requires a B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or similar.
  • Specialized training or Technical certifications a plus (ex. APICS)
  • 5 years of experience in Supply Chain.
  • Must have prior experience managing suppliers and inventories.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with all functions and levels within the organization.
  • Must be analytical in thought and able to problem solve complex tasks.
  • Strong Excel skills are desired.  
  • SAP experience in an MRP environment strongly preferred
  • SAP IBP experience strongly preferred (or other Advanced Planning ERP system)
