Job Summary

The Senior Data Analytics Specialist will be part of our BI/Analytics Team and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for Reporting and Analytical needs. As the Data Analytics lead, this position will be responsible for architecting scalable, best-in-class Data Warehouse solutions and processes and play a key role in the Analytics modernization initiative. This role will drive Analytics Literacy and help establish a standardized Data Analytics infrastructure for all TAH entities. This role will work closely with the IT, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to develop data-informed analyses, ultimately supporting successful business growth, operational efficiency, and sales acceleration.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with BI/Analytics Manager, IT Leadership and Business Partners, develop and maintain roadmap for the management and governance of Enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring it reflects the current and future business needs, aligned with industry, best practices and solution roadmap
  • Perform Data Modeling, Data Transformation, ETL, ELT, Automation and Process Improvement
  • Creating and maintaining Fact, Dimension and Aggregate tables to support BI Reporting. 
  • Data Ingestion/Data Acquisition from various Enterprise Applications
  • Data Profiling,  Data Validations, and ensuring Data Hygiene and Quality
  • Develop processes for monitoring, preserving data integrity and quality on an on-going basis
  • Performance Tuning of Database Tables and views for reporting consumption.
  • Promote the adoption of new technologies and solutions to improve the organization's data processing, analysis, and validation capabilities
  • Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes
  • Develop and maintain guidelines, principles, policies, standards, reference models and best practices for all matters related to Enterprise Data Warehouse related process and data architecture
  • Perform unit testing and ensure satisfaction of the documented requirements
  • Facilitate working sessions to understand the analytical requirements and prioritize them.
  • Automate and develop schedules for KPI metrics, and ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met
  • In collaboration with the BI/Visualization team, develop and promote easy to use 'self-service' data products
  • Assists in developing weekly status reports and communicate status, risks, and issues
  • Define the processes and frameworks allowing the Analytics team to prepare enriched and aggregated data assets for reporting and Advanced Analytics
     

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Work with IT Leaders, SAP COE Leaders, PMO, (external) Consulting Team and (internal) Core Business Team for the successful design, configuration, unit testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing of the Analytics Modernization initiative
  • Advising on optimized architectures for cloud data management, helping develop roadmaps for on-premises to Cloud migration efforts
  • Perform risk assessments of enterprise apps and work closely with project teams on building/configuring applications security.
  • Lead team members on projects involving data migration and implementation of new solutions on cloud Data Warehouse platforms
  • Work with the IT Leaders, SAP COE Leaders, PMO, Project Team and Business stakeholders to proactively and effectively communicate and collaborates with the User Community to address reporting, analytics, and data needs across all operations in the Americas.
  • Support the building of and effectively manage Integration Points between Cloud Data Lake/Data Warehouse and other TAH systems.
  • Create clearly defined Instructions and Structured Documentation to track and control project scope.
  • Adheres to the policies, standards & baselines to ensure consistency
  • Establish processes, methods, and tools for EDW and Data Management. 
  • Apply processes and tools to support the SLA(s) established by the BI/Analytics team to the various business units. Monitor and report on the SLA adherence
  • Respond to User Help Desk tickets for disposal of service requests from business users.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Scripting, Database, Data Warehouse methodologies,  Data Management, Data Modeling and Performance Tuning
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP (S/4 or ECC) with understanding of the processes, Tables and  CDS Views would be a great asset. 
  • Demonstrated ability in creating DB objects like Stored Procedures, Functions for computing and data transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability in Performance Tuning of large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) to power BI/Reporting
  • designing and building ETL pipelines using SQL or any Data Integration technologies. 
  • Migrating on premise workloads to one or more industry leading public cloud(s)
  • Experience with any Data Integration/ETL/ELT technologies like Informatica, Talend etc., and Data Visualization/BI Tools like Tableau, Power BI would be plus
  • Able to work cross-functionally with many teams and multi-task with a sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and committed to meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical ability to understand the reporting requirements and the resulting implications for the process teams and BI design 
  • Strong desire to stay ahead of the trends and ability to research and apply emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work with business owners to develop and define key business requirements and to build data sets that answer those questions.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing and implementing Data Warehouse to support BI/Business Analytics Reporting for ERP system and with Microsoft SQL Server or similar RDBMS
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Prior experience with SAP is highly preferred but at a minimum must have experience developing Business Analytics/BI System for any ERP system (i.e., JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.).
  • Prior experience with Large and Complex BI Analytics implementation required
  • Prior experience with any Cloud Data platform (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, Big Query etc.) required
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry and/or pharmaceutical industry highly preferred
