Job Summary
Terumo Global Business Services (GBS) aims to serve as a platform for future business growth and a model for continuous improvement and innovation that unlocks customer potential. The GBS team will be key in driving process standardization and optimization by centrally managing end-to-end processes, while meeting service delivery expectations.
Manager, GBS Procurement and Vendor Master Management will lead a team of Procurement and Vendor Management business services specialists responsible for such functions as managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, indirect sourcing, vendor creation/ maintenance, and vendor inquiry management. Manager, GBS Procurement & Vendor Management will ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness in completion of all activities, as well as providing guidance to the team and supporting service management principles.
Job Details/Responsibilities
Assist in building out and sustaining the GBS Organization
• Review materials and documentation that transition into GBS
• Support staff workload balancing
Ensure seamless and timely service management and delivery within GBS
• Oversee all transaction processing, indirect sourcing and other procurement and vendor master management activities performed
• Manage and ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness in delivery of services for procurement and vendor master management, such as managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, change orders indirect sourcing, vendor creation/maintenance, and vendor inquiry management
• Lead the GBS Procurement and Vendor Master Management team’s interaction with business teams to ensure effective delivery of reports, work products, support to businesses and response to queries
• Lead and deliver indirect sourcing projects in support of business requirements, including RFIs, RFPs, eAuctions, contract negotiations and contract management
• Manage multiple sourcing initiatives to achieve desired objectives of cost reduction, margin improvements and project execution
• Collaborate with internal business partners and external suppliers to identify, support, and improve business processes
• Work closely with the business to ensure all Procure to Pay steps are adhered to and to help clear invoice exceptions so that supplier invoices are paid on time
• Work closely with internal business leaders to impact and define sourcing approach, assess market conditions, and monitor ongoing effectiveness
• Assist in resolving complex or sensitive requests from senior management or customer/vendor escalations on a timely basis
• Identify and resolve procurement and vendor master management operational issues using expertise and judgment
• Manage exception-based problem resolution and provide guidance and escalation when needed
• Help address and or escalate any key issues or risks
• Manage and oversee control procedures and practices to ensure no significant SOX control deficiencies in the Procurement, Indirect Sourcing and Vendor Master Management delivery function
Business Process Management
• Manage required and appropriate reporting to facilitate informed decision making
• Assess procurement-related processes for quality and adaptability, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose solutions and improvements to balance efficiency
• Engage the team in the possibilities for process design and deduce the optimal way to deliver services
• Ensure compliance with local requirements and company controls, enforce adherence to requirements and advise management on mitigating actions when appropriate
• Remain up to date on Procurement, Sourcing and Vendor Master Management related policies and regulations of all areas (i.e., territories) in-scope
People Management
• Manage and provide coaching and support to Procurement and Vendor Master Management team, ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams
• Develop/mentor team by providing advise and soft skills guidance
• Manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
• Advanced knowledge of Procurement, Indirect Sourcing and Vendor Master Management concepts, processes, and activities

Qualifications/ Background Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7+ years in Procurement, Sourcing and Vendor Master Management processes required, or combination of education and related experience
- Must have 5+ years’ experience managing and/or leading an Operational Procurement and/or Sourcing team
- Ariba / SAP experience strongly preferred
