Job Summary

The Business Transformation Project Manager is focused on the project management needs of the TMC commercial business.  As business needs evolve, and across all functional areas, they will collaborate with the various teams to identify needs, perform gap analysis, and prioritize solution implementation.  The Business Transformation Project Manager will design solutions with alignment to sales enablement strategies to drive positive impact and results for the business.

Works closely with Manager, Business Applications and Process, Commercial Excellence functional leaders, as well as other commercial leadership team members to identify the best business process blueprint for each project initiative. Establish seamless project process management from conception to implementation.  Partner with Business Applications team members on technology investigation, helping to identify best in class solutions to meet the overall Commercial Excellence goals and objectives. 

 

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Independently lead projects or process tracks related to the commercial business to drive transformation, improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with all commercial functional teams to identify process gaps and technological deficiencies.
  • Prioritize and develop project plans in partnership with Commercial Excellence leadership focused on continuous process improvement, maximizing existing technology capabilities, and new technology implementations.
  • Prepare presentations and formally present project updates to Commercial Excellence Leaders and Senior Management where applicable.
  • Support and collaborate with Terumo Project Management Office (PMO) on supporting large scale projects that impact the Commercial Excellence teams.
  • Produce detailed project documentation and coordinate project activity aligned with project lifecycle utilizing processes, procedures, and tools established by the PMO.
  • Establish and monitor project goals as well as ‘go’ or ‘no go’ criteria for all key decision points. Track progress against project goals and communicate appropriately to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project deliverables of cost, schedule, and performance (CSP). Drive development of recovery and/or risk mitigation plans, ensuring timely escalation to stakeholders as needed (impact to CSP).
  • Partner with third party vendors and bridge communication with the commercial team to establish, explain, and define business requirements.
  • Provide clear project plan updates to promote successful project outcomes, stay within budget, and deliver solutions on time.
  • Maintain project infrastructure – including library/repositories of data & actions, project Gantt Charts, and Budgets. Ensure data integrity to support accurate reporting and communications. Ensure project teams/stakeholders have the tools necessary to execute on deliverables.
  • Track various projects and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with the other Business Applications team members to create and maintain commercial SOPs, work instructions, and process maps supporting commercial business needs and technology resources.
  • In concert with commercial functional leaders define and develop key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Project management and proven communication skills to manage mid-size to large projects with multiple stakeholders, on time and on budget with third parties. 
  • Understanding of project management tools and techniques, including proficiency in MS Project.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills combined with the ability to build consensus between competing points of view
  • Ability to meet with non-technical internal customers, understand their technology needs, advise on best solution to meet their needs, and translate business requirements to technical resources
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment is crucial and oversee multiple projects in parallel while managing evolving priorities and deadlines. 
  • Exercise discretion and manage confidential information. 

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project management or process improvement related role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Track record of completing projects or commercial initiatives with successful outcomes
  • Six Sigma Green Belt required or equivalent certification
  • Experience in a life science/healthcare preferred
  • Experience with technologies focused on commercial business use preferred
  • Project management certifications preferred
