Job Summary

The Team Lead possesses a thorough understanding of the daily operations of their departments.  He/She will function as a working Lead who, in addition to functioning in a production capacity when necessary, is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in ensuring safe and efficient daily operation of the department.  Typical duties include providing associates with instruction and direction to assist the Supervisor in achieving compliance with productions schedules, preventing defective products, and minimizing products being in a backorder status.  He/She will serve as a backup to the Supervisor in times when the Supervisor is out due to events such as meetings, illness, or vacation.    

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe and tidy work environment and resolves any safety concerns
  • Works with Department Supervisor and Manager to oversee the daily operation within the department (daily interaction with department associates, communicate schedules and goals, changes, issues, etc.)
  • Participates in inter-shift handoffs.  Becomes familiar with the status of production/inventory levels and daily issues from previous shift and conveys status and issues to oncoming shift
  • Provides training and support to associates
  • Works to identify root cause of issues and possible resolution
  • Coordinate with daily support groups such as Quality, Engineering, Facilities, etc.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment 
  • Perform a primary Job Function during their shift. (I.E. Expeditor, Operator, Inspector etc.)
  • Coordinates movement of people as necessary where they could have the greatest direct impact to department output
  • Ensure compliance with TMC Quality System, Terumo’s policies, and applicable government regulations
  • Assess, coach, and provide performance feedback to associates.  Provide feedback to supervisor on individual and team performance.

Pay for this position is 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Thorough Knowledge of Department production and documentation processes. 
  • Ability to readily transfer knowledge to others.
  • The ability to demonstrate leadership, flexibility, and being open to others’ suggestions and points of view while standing firm when necessary to support compliance with Terumo policy or legal requirements.  
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of GDP and cGMP practices  
  • Aptitude for focused attention and well-organized thought process
     

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • High School diploma or equivalent  
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in formal or informal leadership positions

Final compensation packages may be higher or lower than what is listed, and will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.

Pay for this position is $20/hour plus a 10% shift differential.
