Job Summary

The Manufacturing Training Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs and curricula for Terumo Medical Corporation’s Manufacturing teams. This role involves developing measurable evaluation methods to assess training effectiveness and ensure achievement of learning objectives.

Operating at both tactical and strategic levels, the Manufacturing Training Manager will manage training schedules, curriculum development, on-the-job training, proficiency qualifications, and record-keeping systems while driving continuous improvement processes. The position’s primary goal is to foster a culture of quality and compliance that supports business growth and meets the evolving needs of Associates and departmental stakeholders.

This position will have direct reports and will be responsible for associate oversite, guidance and leadership.
 

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver diverse training programs for manufacturing teams, including exempt and non-exempt Associates, to enhance performance and ensure role readiness.
  • Develop and maintain role-based training curricula and operations training infrastructures such as on-the-job training and proficiency qualification programs—in collaboration with functional leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Establish and manage the proficiency qualification program to verify that all Associates are properly trained and qualified for their roles.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with cGMP, quality, regulatory, and corporate standards, including FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR 820) and ISO-13485:2016.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering teams to update training programs based on system or process changes, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
  • Lead and coach a team of Manufacturing Trainers to foster professional growth and support career development.
  • Partner with external training providers to develop, implement, and evaluate training materials as needed.
  • Build and maintain foundational onboarding and training components for new hires.
  • Develop a network of SMEs to assist in creating, reviewing, and delivering training content that supports company compliance.
  • Work with SMEs to establish metrics for evaluating and documenting training effectiveness.
  • Collect and analyze training feedback to recommend continuous improvements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated successful developing and managing Associates.
  • Strong computer knowledge (MS Office), technical writing skills and proofreading ability.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a structured training program from conception through implementation.
  •  
  • Working knowledge of database management and Learning Management Systems. 
  • Ability to clearly communicate (both verbal and written), and successfully influence, all levels of the organization. 
  • Must have strong proofreading skills and organizational skills, as well as exemplary attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Position typically requires a 4-year degree or equivalent years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing or training capacity.
  • A minimum 6 years of training experience in a regulated industry, including the development of content and delivery methods, at least 3 of which are in a manufacturing setting.
