Job Summary
This position will support environmental, safety, and health programs and policies at the TMC facilities, relating to applicable local, state and federal EHS regulations. Primary responsibilities of this position include implementing and administering safety, environmental, and health programs at a manufacturing facility. Interfacing with associates and management regarding EHS initiatives is imperative in this position to reduce accidents and improve environmental, health, and safety within the organization.
Job Details/Responsibilities
1. Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets and chemical inventories to ensure compliance with facility EHS programs, and work with project teams to identify and mitigate new EHS risks.
2. Implement EHS programs that promote a positive safety culture engaging associates (e.g. participation on Safety Committees/Teams). Actively partner with operations associates and supervisors to ensure that policies are implemented (e.g. to achieve EHS goals/metrics) to successfully support the EHS program.
3. Assist with environmental reporting and tracking of emissions, exposures, and waste as required to support facility operations
4. Conduct environmental, safety and waste audits of facilities to comply with regulations, identify best practices and pinpoint unsafe working conditions or behaviors; coordinate Industrial Hygiene audits and testing to ensure that hazards are identified and mitigated.
5. Train and coach managers and supervisors on requirements, including good VOC practices, proper waste management and reducing emissions.
6. Assist in incident investigations to ensure effective investigations with root cause analysis. Help to drive associated documentation and implementation of corrective actions.
7. Participate in equipment design reviews and ergonomic assessments for transfer projects and/or new equipment reviews; assist with the review and updating of JHAs
8. Maintain an effective relationship with EHS related agencies (e.g. State of Maryland, emergency management services).
9. Understand and work within the quality systems, following FDA and applicable international regulations as required.
10. Performs other job related duties assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

- Good communication skills and desire to work as part of a team. A desire to continuously improve and take accountability for results.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office software and experience with online reporting tools.
- Ability to set up and work within an organized, document controlled environment.
- General knowledge of EHS compliance requirements
- Be able to pass background check for access to strategic/sensitive materials.
- To gain access to Sterilization (GAMMA) area, associate must go through a background check by fingerprinting through the NRC.
Qualifications/ Background Experiences

- Typically requires a four-year college degree in environmental science, safety science, industrial engineering or related field.
- First aid, HAZWOPER, OSHA 10/30 Hour, DOT certifications preferred
