Job Summary

This individual will provide production planning, buying and end to end supply chain support to enhance the strength of the Product Life Cycle pillars.  
This position is responsible for development of attainable production schedules that ensure the most efficient and practical utilization of materials, manpower, and machines.  

Performs planning and buying analysis functions to support the production plan while keeping the inventory investment within defined goals.  The individual will frequently collaborate with marketing and sales groups to balance supply and demand.

For the Purchasing aspects; providing supply of raw materials and parts in order to maintain the manufacturing schedule as well as the reduction of raw material cost to increase profitability.  
For the Production Planning aspects; planning the most effective schedule to ship product to our customers to meet their needs and maintain a high customer service level as well as provide recommendations for increasing the capacity, improving efficiency and reducing waste.

Job Details/Responsibilities

  • Associate is responsible to follow requirements of applicable national and international regulations.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the products within the assigned PLCM pillar, including related raw materials and production processes.
  • Work closely and support the Product Life Cycle Leader on all aspects of production planning and supply chain requirements.  Core team member on business continuity, material replacement, production/process improvements projects.
  • Keep up to date on issues related to Manufacturing, Planning, Business continuity and other related Supply Chain issues for the representative PLCM pillar.
  • Plans and prepares production schedules and as needed, project sample and validation build schedules
  • Conducts continuous review of production schedules and work orders, establishes priorities and revises the production schedule according to changes in demand requirements, business or project priorities, and availability or capacity of manpower, materials and equipment.  Controls the release of work orders to the production floor.
  • Prepare Purchase Orders to obtain required materials, utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and stockflows.  Maintain appropriate inventory levels of raw materials to complete production and support development engineering/project sample requirements
  • Complete required documentation and work closely with vendors to manage NC (Non-conformances) for rejected raw materials.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Work closely with suppliers for the approval of new materials, RMS (raw material specification packages and material specification changes Input of Bill of Material information from approved change orders
  • Responsible for input of the following information from approved change orders:
    • Item Master data for raw materials, work in progress (WIP), Bill of material information as well as Item Master Branch Plant data for Finished Goods.
  • Provide summary and updates of production rejections to Marketing through situation assessment as needed.  Assess impact to inventory and provide backorder recovery due to disruptions to the supply.
  • Initiate and lead communications sent to marketing regarding supply interruptions.  This will require information gathering from QA, Manufacturing and other groups within TMC
  • Achieve target inventory levels and monitor months on hand to determine if a change to the production plan is required.
  • Maintain monthly SDI data ( Supply, Demand, Inventory)
  • Assist with the data collection and analysis for monthly S & OP process
  • Focuses self and team on meeting customer needs, both internal and external, and establishing that as a key metric of success.
  • Maintain and follow TMC Quality System requirements; including but not limited to, purchasing controls, process controls, change control.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Four year college degree in business, supply chain, operations or related field.
  • 2-4 years prior experience preferred.
  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to confidently address all levels of the organization
  • Persuasive Motivator,Team Player/Project Leader.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability for results
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Word, Powerpoint, order entry, inventory systems, etc. 
  • Knowledge of JDE or SAP a plus
  • Strong mathematical skills.  Good analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multi-tasks.
  • Cross functional team experience
