Job Summary
Perform the complete preparation of the molding machine to produce good parts. Conduct the necessary activities to maintain expected levels of production and quality of the components manufactured. Set up and operate plastic molding machines, such as compression or injection molding machines, to mold, form, or cast materials to specified shape.
Job Details/Responsibilities
- Conduct the necessary inspections and analysis with the proper machinery and report/interpret performance results.
- Operate machinery and equipment associated with the production of goods following documented manufacturing procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting analysis as required.
- Ensure safety and quality are top priorities.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering open communication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
- Notifies management of violation or deviations to manufacturing standards, quality, and safety procedures immediately when recognized.
- Operate injection molding machines to produce components for medical devices according to established procedures and specifications.
- Set up molds, adjust machine parameters, and monitor production processes to ensure optimal product quality and efficiency.
- Inspect molded components for defects, such as flash, bending, or surface imperfections, and perform any necessary rework or adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Assemble molded components into finished medical devices using manual assembly techniques and specialized tools as required.
- Perform visual inspections and functional testing of assembled devices to verify compliance with regulatory requirements and product specifications.
- Document all molding and assembly activities, including production data, quality inspections, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and process issues to minimize downtime and optimize production output.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and quality assurance personnel, to address manufacturing challenges and implement process improvements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate efficient workflow and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated on new molding techniques, equipment, and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all TPR procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.

- Capacities to calculate (rounding, addition and subtraction), coordinate, detect, evaluate, interview, inspect, and collect.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively work with others is highly important. Ability to work in teams and follow detailed work instructions.
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects, is a must.
- Ability to coordinate movements of two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the body is in motion, is a must.
- The ability to quickly make coordinated movements of one hand, a hand together with its arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects, is a must.
- Ability to correctly follow a given rule or set of rules to arrange things or actions in a certain order. The things or actions can include numbers, letters, words, pictures, procedures, sentences, and mathematical or logical operations, is a must.
- Ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists, is a must.
- Ability to keep the hand and arm steady while making an arm movement or while holding the arm and hand in one position, is a must.
- Ability to work under pressure, initiative and good judgment when fulfilling duties.
- Must be trained in Molding Process Training which includes three levels: Basic Molding Machine Operations, Basic Injection Molding, and Skill Builder for Basic Injection Molding.
- Must be capable to read and understand documents both in English and Spanish.
- Assist training workshops in/outside of Puerto Rico as required.
Qualifications/ Background Experiences
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), is a must.
- Previous experience in an Operator role, preferred.
- Experience in molding process (injection preferable) and molding machines (hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic) desirable.
