Job Summary
Provide a wide variety of facility maintenance services to Terumo, Puerto Rico LLC. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning sidewalks, trailers office areas, lobby and platform. Perform routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repair.
Job Details/Responsibilities
- Maintain all assigned areas of the facilities in good condition.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, to prepare facilities for events, such as or meetings.
- Respond as a backup for certain facility emergencies.
- Member and trained on Emergency Response Practices, preferred.
- Perform work related to painting, patching, repairs, and other tasks related to the physical appearance of the infrastructure and equipment of the complete site (both inside and outside building scopes).
- Repair gypsum board, acoustic ceiling, and basic plumbing.
- Performs landscaping and other grounds maintenance on the site.
- Support of the Facilities Technical Team while performing mechanical, electrical work and minor alterations in the building.
- Escort contractors and vendor’s miscellaneous work related to the scope mentioned above, as required.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major
- repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Assemble plumbing equipment, assemble desks and office equipment, install tiles, locks, Gypsum board repairs, acoustic ceiling, among others.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or with hand trucks.
- Drive vans, or other vehicles required to travel to, or to perform, maintenance work.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering open communication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all TPR procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Must wear safety shoes during working hours.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide and rounding).
- Strong focus on the specifics and paying close attention to small details.
- Be available for after hours on-call program to respond immediately to emergency situations.
- Good verbal and written communications skills in Spanish. English is a plus.
- Unexpired Puerto Rico driver’s license, at least Category 3, is required since the position requires driving a motor vehicle as usual and integral part of the job.
Qualifications/ Background Experiences
- High School Degree certification, studies towards obtaining Technical Degree is preferred.
- Minimum (3) three years of experience in the Facilities Building, Ground and Aesthetics scope, both inside and outside buildings.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry is preferred.
