Job Summary
Terumo Aortic is deeply committed to supporting the clinicians that use our products with a robust offering of educational programs and working closely with clinicians to improve the products and solutions we offer. The Senior Medical Education Manager is a critical, high-visibility customer facing role within Terumo Aortic responsible for developing and executing medical education content and programs. The position will work across all lines of therapy.
The successful candidate holds a deep passion for supporting physicians, nurses, and technologists in their journey to better understand and treat the aortic disease. They will be responsible for several programs in our medical education offering, including a focus on trainees, fellows, and early career cardiac and vascular surgeons. The role will offer an opportunity to work with world class physician faculty across cardiac and vascular surgery. The individual will develop and maintain productive relationships with key opinion leaders and must be skilled at appropriate coaching of physicians in the development and delivery of peer-to-peer education.
This role is responsible for the design, facilitation and the implementation of Physician, and Fellow's training and other Medical Education programming.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads strategic planning of the Physician training programs.
- Manages and develops yearly budget and Annual Needs Assessment associated with these programs.
- Develops course agendas, drives instructional design process, creation of brochures and promotional materials and course decks.
- Develops relationships with territory leaders, academic institution stakeholders and surgeon faculty, drives course development and execution of programs.
- Manages onboarding and utilization of surgeon faculty.
- Conducts market and competitive analysis related to medical education.
Expected Areas of Competence
- Ability to design medical education programs.
- Ability to identify training needs and link to business objectives.
- Knowledge of latest medical education techniques and methodologies.
- Ability to design training materials for both instructional and electronic mediums.
- Working knowledge of the medical device field, preferably orthopedics.
- Strong project and program development and management skills.

- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.

Education/Experience Requirements
- B.S. degree, in business in a related field of study. Advanced degree preferred.
- MBA or work on an MBA is preferred.
- Previous experience in aortic, cardiology or vascular surgery industry experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in education, training, sales or marketing in the med-tech space. Prior experience in the cardiovascular space is highly preferred.
- Highly organized and strong project management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Operate in a cross-functional team and independently, with adaptability to changing requirements.
- Demonstrated willingness to make decisions and to take responsibility for such.

- Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 40%.
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 40%. Travel can be up to around 2 days every week but may fluctuate. Travel is anywhere in the US.
